    Unable to obtain IP Address from Wireless Network

    Compaq sr1130nx desktop
    amd 1.2 gig
    linksys wmp54g v2 pcmia card

    kubuntu 4.1 installed using Knetwork Manager

    I can see the wireless networks but only get to 28% connection before it stops. I have attempted to connect to an open network, so WPA WEP are not the issue.

    I have tried to connect to a D-link router, a Airport Express, and a linux router we have in the office.

    Welcome to the forum. Just about any Kubuntu question you have can be answered here. A Lot of questions have already been answered, and searching the forum will turn up threads that will surely apply to your problem.

    I did a search using "wifi connection 28%" and got several hits. You might try that. If you can't find a solution, post back and we will see what we can do to help you.
