    Network profiles in KDE4?

So I've KDE 4.1.2 running on my laptop at this point, and I'm wondering there is any way to get it to switch between network settings without a long series of clicks on my part.

I use two networks principally, one a work which requires a proxy, and one at home which doesn't. On KDE 3.5 I used the nice and handy kproxyswitch app, bound to a particular keyboard shortcut. Is there any way of getting similar results with KDE4?

The ideal, of course, would be for it to recognise the network by somehow polling knetworkmanager and adjusting proxy settings automatically based on that.

The "Automatically detect proxy settings" option doesn't work, for whatever reason.

    Any pointers would be great.

I think you can make a new wallet, and switch between wallets. Not sure though, it's worth a try.

Thanks, but unfortunately that would just allow me to segregate the saved passwords between the different networks. That could be useful, but doesn't help with the automatic setting of network options.

Having googled a bit, it's looking like this just isn't possible yet. I'm a little surprised, as I thought laptop use and moving between networks with different settings would be common enough at this point - I guess proxies aren't as commonly an issue as they are with me.
