Can I have kde3 and kde 4 ?


I have hardy kde3.
If I'd like to use kde4 I have to download Kubuntu-kde4 and install it or it's possible to install some packages to have kde4 ?
If it's possible to install some packages is the same as install kubuntu-kde4 ?

Yes, if you install KDE 4, you will have both.

The last I heard, if you simply open a Konsole window and do

sudo apt-get install kde4-core

, you will get the "main" set of KDE4 packages. Then you can use Adept to get Kopete KDE4 and other specific packages that you may want.

On your login GUI, you can click "session" and from that menu pick whether you boot into KDE 3 or KDE 4.
