I am running an Nvidia card and the latest update now produces a "no resume image, doing normal boot" to the CLI. I know I have been down this road before but cannot find my notes. I tried installing Envyng and running it to uninstall the old driver and to install a new one. I followed the notes at http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3099811.0 but have had no success. I apologize to those who helped me in the past and beg their indulgence to help me again. What should I do? I think I could muddle through it if I could just get to my desktop.
Update:
1. I used generic recovery to get to my desktop
2. Downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia
3. Logged out to the console and ran the installer with sudo sh NVIDIA.xxxxxxxxx.run
4. Restarted X with startx
Everything looks ok now. I don't know why Envyng would not work for me.
