    Adding Second Hard Drive

" Hello to all and thanks in advance for any suggestions any of you might have.

Here is what I am trying to do:
I am running Kubuntu 8.04.1 presently on 160GB formatted with ext3 file system (default during new install process).
I have second identical drive with same 160GB capacity, which I am trying to use as spare storage. the problem is after opening Konsole and typing sudo fdisk /dev/sdb , I entered "n" for new partion and the "p" for partition and selected "1" as primary and entered starting at "1" and end at "19929" as it shows with result.

I tried to use mkfs.ext3 -L data /dev/sdb1 because I wanted "DATA" as mounted. but it gives error that only Root has privilege but still it mount it not as DATA but <mount_Point> entry. I tried to write on this drive but i can not write any thing!

Am I doing something wrong or missing something? any help will be greatly appreciated.

Once again thanks to all in advance.

Both drives are internal. Thanks to all who answered. I have resolved the problem. it was just replacing nomount option with mount under the property of second hard drive.
