    Disable Mouse Tapping; Dell 1525

    Hey all,

I've searched and searched, and I'm actually really surprized I haven't found a working solution for this. I need to disable the mouse tapping for my touchpad. syndaemon isn't a satisfactory fix, as it is the tapping in general that I dislike - not just the random cursor movement when I type.

I've also tried modifying xorg.conf, but the change I made had no effect. All I did was add the line "SHMSConfig" "true" to the mouse section - is there a more correct way?

I've looked in the BIOS and found no information or options regarding a mouse or pointing device.

I would try gSyanpaptics, but I have read that it's no longer supported in Hardy - and I'd hate to download all those packages and then have them not work - it's an awful lot of cleanup.

Does anybody have experience with this problem on this machine that can offer a more sure solution?

    Thank you so much!

Wow, sorry for the late reply, missed this somehow.

You should be able to disable the touchpad completely in the BIOS if you so wish.

If not there is this: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php...?content=61442
