    Monitor out of range [SOLVED]

Maybe this can help somebody with the same problem.
After upgrading to Hardy I got sometimes the message "Monitor out of range 81.3kHz/65Hz". It only happened with some programs, two of them Einstein and Pathological (games).
After searching for quite some time and trying out (for me ) very frightening things like editing xorg.conf and lots of other things, I found the solution. Really simple.
I went to System settings -> Monitor and changed the Hardware from a generic Plug and Play to the monitor I really have. The model was in the list. Now everything works.
Sometimes Linux is not too difficult for me, but it's too simple and I myself make it difficult...
Working...
