Hard Drive Parking Bug

Hey all,

I've been using Fedora 8 for a while now because Ubuntu (or BIOS or the manufacturer) enjoys eating laptop hard drives, and I don't want to bother mucking around with ad-hoc "fixes". I'm trying out the Kubuntu 8.04 live cd however, and it is damned impressive. So impressive that I'm tempted to do a full install. Does 8.04 still have the hard drive cycle issue? If so, does the unofficial fix on the Ubuntu forum work?

Ok, I'm for sure no expert on this subject, but I do recall that devs have said that it should be fixed in Hardy though.

Don't take my word for it though, better to get a dev's confirmation.
