I just wondered about the following:
In Xp I run at least once a month several clean up programs, one of which always finds 10 or so spyware programs, which are then removed.
One of the reasons I love Linux is that register cleaning and disk de-fragmenting are things of the past; also the chance of getting your computer infected by some virus is as I understood far less than when running under Windows, mainly because you have to be 'root' in order to install anything.
But how is this for cookies, and more important, spyware?? Do I still have to remove those 'manually'??
