    OpenOffice 2.4 and upgrade issue

I have managed to install OpenOffice 2.4 with the help of this web address

    http://user.services.openoffice.org/....php?f=16&t=68

I am currently running Kubuntu Gutsy 7.10 and now that I have installed OpenOffice 2.4, Adept Updater wants me to "Upgrade" to 2.3

I don't want to upgrade to Hardy as I think that they have gone backwards and not forwards in terms of development, it is still beta at the moment.

    I'll stop the rant here

Question being, how do I stop adept updater from bugging me about it?

I cannot see an option to ignore the updates.

Re: OpenOffice 2.4 and upgrade issue

I first of all I went through adept manager and removed all associations with version 2.3 of open office.

I then downloaded and then installed the 2.4 debs, then adept updater said there were updates. I had a look at these updates and they are for version 2.3 and it didn't do this before I installed 2.4. I even tried purging the 2.3 option but that just removes 2.4.

I don't see how adept updater is seeing that version 2.3 is an upgrade to 2.4

    I also tried:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get autoremove
    sudo apt-get autoclean
    sudo apt-get clean
    sudo apt-get install -f
To remove unnecessary files an dependencies and check for packages yet to be installed of which there was none.

I'll just ignore them for now and just hope they get Hardy sorted by the time they fully release it.

It's funny how other debs just add themselves to the list of packages in adept with no bother.
