hi, do you guy know where adept package manager save it downloaded package?? is there a way to change this to another place?? in case i have to format and reinstall the os.

downloaded packages go into /var/cache/apt/archives folder, so you can copy them to another location (the old packages are periodically removed from it, so it may be a good thing to backup them somewhere else, just in case you need a specific package - i do keep an offline repo, but have never needed it)
that however is not enough to restore them, since most depend upon one another
install aptoncd either via adept/synaptic or apt; with it you can back up the packages on a apt compatible cd/dvd (meaning you can add it as a repo); aptoncd will scan /var/cache/apt/archives and add the packages found, to which you can add your own package folder
