If I am not mistaken there is a plugin that you can download. You can use adept installer. At the top left you are going to find a search box, just type codec and you should find 6 plugins. just choose to install them all and you should be able to play DivX with. The other option is using synaptic package and type GStreamer and you should be able to downloaded and play DivX file. Good lock
