    Kde panel disappeared

By an unfortunate mouseclick my panel has disappeared. In the System Settings there is no section to repair this.
However I need the panel for notifications.
    How can I repair this

Yes you have to remove the .kde folder from your home directory.

Don't delete your .kde folder (that's for KDE3). Don't delete your .kde4 folder... that's just overkill.

Instead, just delete the plasma* files in .kde4/share/config/

Is it possible to re-add it using the "Add Widget" menu?

I don't think so. A reboot / re-log in should reinstate the panel

Edit: I assume this is on kde4?
If you are on kde then open kcontrol (if you don' have it install it) with alt+F2 and go to desktop->panels.
