    KDE 4.0 root password issues

Hello. Has anyone tried the new KDE 4.0 Release Candidate 2? I installed it and overall, it is a great new look, but I can't seem to use the same root password as I do for sudo in KDE 3.4 in for example, the adept manager. I get an error message indicating incorrect password. It must have something to do with the password existing on 3.4 not carrying over to 4.0, which I guess is good for security. Is there a default root password that ships with the current release candidate? Thanks!

What password did you choose when you installed it? That should be the one you need.

As far as I know, there is no default root password, sorry :P

Edit: If you need to change your password, at bootup, press "Esc" to cancel the normal boot sequence; choose to boot into recovery mode (which will automatically log you in as root), and enter the following command to change your password:
    Code:
    ~# passwd [username]
    -replace [username] with your username

Right. Recovery mode is the best option, but I think the problem is the hybrid nature of having both KDE 3.4 and 4.0 installed together. I will try it, though. Thanks!
