I've just finished a clean installation of Kubuntu 7.10 and I get the same problem:

As v2leech says, I can get into this pages using the web browser.
I'm behind a proxy. Can this proxy be the problem?

Could be. Try turning the proxy off (or just tell apt to not use it).

I had the same problem and solved it by downloading and installing the Polish version available here http://ubuntu.pl/pobierz.php. It defaults to Polish but you can select English during the install.

i have the same problem of getting the adept_manager to update.. because of this i can't install any codecs. has anyone fixed this problem...

For me the adept manager says that there is an upgrade available... but when i try to upgrade it.. it gives a program integrity error and exits..

please help me out here.. I am a real noob at linux so.. i need all the help that you can provide.please

I had the same problem and solved it by downloading and installing the Polish version available here http://ubuntu.pl/pobierz.php. It defaults to Polish but you can select English during the install.

I'm currently downloading the DVD iso. Guess I'll try what fcookvt suggest if still can't connect to the update server.

For some reason, I can't seem to connect to the Polish torrent tracker. Finished downloading the DVD iso. Will install it tomorrow and see how it goes.

Installed the DVD iso.. still no luck... not sure what is wrong with it. And fcookvt, I still can't download the Polish Kubuntu..

why not download from a different mirror? The switch mirror in Switzerland is very reliable:
http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/u...kubuntu/gutsy/

install that and get your polish locales.

I finished downloading the Polish version and burned it into CD. Installing it later..
BTW, I've installed synaptic on this current Kubuntu but still no luck connecting to the repo
