How To Enable Multimedia In Kubuntu

These simple steps will help you to enable multimedia on Kubuntu

    1) Search for gstreamer from Adept package manager(or Synaptic in Ubuntu) and mark these for installation "GStreamer ffmpeg video plugin" , "GStreamer extra plugins" ,"GStreamer plugins for aac, xvid, mpeg2, faad" ,"GStreamer plugins for mms, wavpack, quicktime, musepack". Select all gstreamer plugins which has a multimedia content description with it if your names differ with the list above.

2)Now search for "Kbuntu restricted extras" and select it

3)Search libxine or simply xine and select all libxine libraries(Ubuntu users should select gxine with it)

4)I also recommend to add Java JRE, Flash, and Relaplayer(helix player) in similar way

5)Now install them, log off and log in again, you have done it !
