    Installed thunderbird 2.0.0.8 but it contains the 2.0.0.6

    After having updated thunderbird it still contains the old 2.0.0.6 version:

    $ /usr/bin/thunderbid --version
    Thunderbird 2.0.0.6, Copyright (c) 1998-2007 mozilla.org

        I have the same with firefox as well. I guess they did a ubuntu version update and not a FF / TB version update.

          Comes with automatic update notifications.
          IMHO, it's the way to go on FX & T-Bird
