Can't seem to remove broken package.

I can't seem to repair or remove a broken package.

    The terminal reports:
    Removing cnr-client ...
The group `cnr' does not exist.
    dpkg: error processing cnr-client (--remove):
subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 3
    Errors were encountered while processing:
    cnr-client
    E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
    Synaptic reports:
E: cnr-client: subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 3
    Adept reports:
There was an error commiting changes. Possibly there was a problem downloading some packages or the commit would break packages.
In the meantime I do not seem to install updates.

How do I get out of this problem please?

It seems to me that you are more experience in Linux than I, by the number of post that we both got. This might be a silly question, Did you try the broken filter in synaptic? If you did not it is located at the lower left side, just click filters and choose the one which is broken to fix. It'll do it for you. :-)

You could edit /etc/group and add a "cnr" group... but please, make a backup first!
