Anyone else have Kopete crashing lately?

after a recent update (before kde 3.5.8) i now have kopete (0.12.7) (4:3.5.8-0ubuntu2) crashing whilst trying to connect. anyone else getting this?:

yes I'm getting the same problem after getting K.D.E-3.5.8,and installing the latest updates today.

Kopete 0.12.7 (under KDE 3.5.8 ), today I upgraded to Gutsy and now crashes when I try to logon on MSN accounts, apparently no problem with Jabber.

i only use msn, so yeah, it crashes while trying to connect to msn...
maybe msn changed their protocol again?...

I will have to say that I just got here on time. Even when I updated to gutsy last week kopete was still working until yesterday, when the first crash happened. I will have to say that I do remember that I happened after an update. If you guys know about anything please let me know. I would like to have Kopete up and running ASAP. I know that it was taking longer to connect to MSN than it use to. The question would be, how to fix it.

i have no idea what to do to try to resolve the issue... but at least i know i'm not the only one with the issue.

Guys, I just got my kopete working. Is not working 100% but at least it is working. For what I saw the problem comes in when I tried to get all my accounts online, it crashed. So I began to get the accounts individually online. My yahoo got online and my gmail as well. When it came for my hotmail account get connected, it crashed. I guess Brouwnout was right.

Hello all
same is happening here as well, all accounts are fine except for MSN. Am overcoming this problem by using aMSN, it's not a fix, but a way out.
I hope it will help those who use MSN, ohhh I don't have cam support as yet, still need to work it out

yeah, i know about amsn, but i'd prefer a qt application in kde, instead of gtk... maybe a kind of lame excuse, but i can wait till it gets fixed or someone finds a fix.

ok, turns out it wasn't a bug with kopete. assuming you are using kde 3.5.8, install this package with the fix:

any idea?
(i just discovered yesterday night that i am kopete dependent!!!)

seriously any idea what i did wrong?
i'm not using AMD64 so it should have work, right?
