    Re: please help guys

    First, do you have any other operating system on your PC?
    Second, before you select the Start and Install, look at the bottom of the screen. I believe you want to press F4. This will present you with the option to boot into Safe Graphic (VGA). Give that a try (you have an nVidia video card) and report back.

          Re: please help guys

          It's your nVidia graphics card. The LiveCD isn't able to properly detect it. That's why using the Safe Graphics option (VGA) generally works.

          You can procede to intall Gutsy if you want. You will end up having to reinstall the appropriate nVidia driver however, after the installation, in order to take advantage of the card. There are instructions for doing so are here: HOWTO: Install and use the Envy script installer for video drivers

              Re: please help guys

              Graphics card or graphics chip. It's still nVidia. Kubuntu has 'issues' with the nVidia cards/chips due to the proprietary drivers they use.

                  sarkararko,

                  in order to understand your problem we need more info. You say "...that it does not show the partitions of my hard disk so when i tried to mount it..." - you are trying to mount something? What and why? In the next sentence you state "another thing the partitions are all NTFS". How, if it does not show partitions, can you deduce that they are NTFS?

                  Very confused here...

                      Open a console and type:
                      Code:
                      sudo fdisk -l && cat /etc/fstab
                      Copy and paste the output in your reply.
