    Kubuntu 7.10 Installation Problems

    Hi,
I have been trying to install Kubuntu 7.10 for the past 2 weeks without any success. I have a dual boot PC with Windows XP installed on the first partition.
My PC runs on P4 1.6GHz, 1GB ram, Nvdia GEForce 6200. The motherboard has a onboard display. The PC is connected to a ASUS 19 inch monitor via the DVI port.
Windows is running without any problems but when I try to boot from the Kubuntu Installation disk, it boots up the kernel, then the screen with the progress bar appears and just freezes and the installation does not go forward.
The onboard graphics card is disabled in the BIOS.
    Please Help!!!
    Thanks in advance.

What speed did you burn the livecd at? It has problems if you burn at over 4x. Might be worth trying to reburn it at a low speed.

Another member had a similar problem, and was also initially connected to the monitor via the DVI connection. He switched to the standard video cable connection, removed the quiet splash options from the boot line kernel (press F6 when at the boot menu and backspace of these to options and press enter). That enabled the LiveCD to finish the boot process.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

I used the standard video cable as well, getting the same error with that also. I will remove the quiet splash options and also try to burn the cd at a lower speed and see if it helps.
        Thanks.

          Hi
I have tried to install gutsy once again by removing the Quiet option and then adding the options nosplash, noapic, irqpoll noirqdebug. I'm still getting the same error as mentioned above.
The last few lines before the installation fails is given below
