Is this the reason for the trouble??

We know that Kubuntu is the small brother of ubuntu and kde gets less resources than gnome.

So could this be aggravating the situation even more?

Well I thought there goal was a better desk top linux to be used by everyone( or something to that effect). You got to admit though, the servers are where the money is and sooner or later Shuttleworth has to make a profit. After all that's what he does, business.

NO question there but seeing how the upgrade procedure to the latest greatest is flaky at best as witnessed by the many threads to that effect started here on gutsy the last few days and the simple fact that the live install still does not work in many cases. One has to wonder

And for me, this was the easiest upgrade/install I have ever done (kubuntu/mythbuntu) in any distro I have ever tried since 2000.

Only time will tell, but my impression (from browsing the 2 forums and Launchpad bug reports since tribe 2 or3) this time is that there are a number of people with somewhat similar issues, whereas for feisty, it was a much broader set of problems involving a lot of users.

I don't see how it is stretched to thin, in regards to Kubuntu development, as there are the same amount of paid developers for Kubuntu as there were before (1,afaik - Jonathan Riddell), plus all the volunteers. Just from my casual count,(from activity in irc on #kubuntu-devel) it seems to be about the same there as well.
