[SOLVED]ish - seem to have a slight problem

hello,

been reading stuff here for about a month, all been very useful, thank you.

i dual booted my new pc, one side windows xp, the other feisty kubuntu. got used to feisty really quick and was very happy with it.

anyways long story short, i started the upgrade to gutsy today, everything downloaded, everything installed, konsole returned to prompt. i restarted, grub came up, kubuntu is now version 7.10. i stared it up, brings up the blue kubuntu logo with the blue bar, the bar completes - then a screen of text flashes up. all goes black, then it goes back to the blue kubuntu logo. nothing happens for awhile and then finally it shuts down....bummer huh!

using xp for awhile whilst i download the files for a gutsy cd. going to stick that in and see if that helps any.

any advice or pointers? a mate suggested i tried various combinations of ctrl-alt-some function key to bring up a konsole but nothing happens.

still optimistic and all....just a slight setback


-whey, so nothing worked, I used my xp partition to remove any important files, then just reinstalled with gutsy...so far so good, thanks for help
