How to get Amarok to play CD's?

I have 2 kubuntu machines. 1 plays cd's fine with Amarok. The other can't even read a list of tracks (although Kaffeine/VLC play them just fine).

I have gstreamer plugins good and bad installed
MP3's play great
Heck I can even play any DVD I want and I know the CD drive works as other programs play CD's fine and I installed my fresh Gutsy final on it.

any ideas anyone?

Any error messages ?
Have you tried to start Amarok in the konsole -> error messages ?

As far as I know uses amaroK xine libraries for playing music. Kubuntu users doesn't use gstreamer normally.
