Re: newbie-adding bookmarks to bookmarks toolbar

Try this one to fix your bookmark toolbar:
    1. Go to (in konqueror) Bookmarks>Edit Bookmarks
    2. Right-click on the top-level 'Bookmarks' and choose 'Set as Toolbar Folder'

Those errors are unrelated to your problem, but if you wish to get rid of those you can look at this thread, for example:

Dont know how to capture screen in linux yet.
Ksnapshot is a handy tool for captures, should be in the k-menu under Graphics (for future reference, try the procedure on top of the post first)

      Snowhog,
This was suggested by Kubicle to see what error messages I get. As you suggest I usually use quicklaunch. I repeated it with kdesu and the error message was the same.

Any luck with the procedure in my previous post? (just in case you missed it)

In 2. right clicked everywhere and couldn't find Set as Toolbar Folder.

Did not work. I can drag and drop to the tab line but not to the bookmarks toolbar, which I assume is directly under the address bar. Before you invest any more time I will uninstall and reinstall. I have also installed FF and it works perfectly so I might just go with it. Thanks all.

Hopefully you haven't uninstalled/reinstalled yet. What you are wanting to do does work.

In Konqueror, with Settings | Toobars | Bookmark Toolbar (Konqueror) checked, you can click+drag from the desired open window tab to the Bookmark Toolbar. I just tried it.

I just tried again unsucessfully (for the umpteenth time) to d & d link from address bar to the area directly below it but not to the next level below, the tab area, where it will work.
