how can i get it back.

my terminal says that they are new udates

Are you referring to Adept Updater?
You can get that back by running "adept_updater". You can configure it through the system tray from there.

Oops, sorry. Wrong one.

You want "adept_notifier". Just run it, and it'll ask you.
