Kubuntu look very intresting distro after couple-weeks trying and after Suse 10.2

When and whereFirefox's security-update for Kubuntu?
2.0.0.4 -> 2.0.0.5

Can't we just use "Help>Check for Updates" in Firefox 2.0.0.4 to do this?

Check for updates from the Help menu only seems to work if compiled. If installed using the repositories, it only updates when the newer package is available.

That said, the last time there was a bug update like this, it only took a couple days for it to make it into the repositories. I'd be surprised if it's not there by friday, or the end of the weekend at the latest.

The update of the official Ubuntu version of Firefox an Thunderbird is always a few days or even a week later than the standard version of the same.
When you use an other version like 2.0.x you probably know how to install it by yourself.
I use one of the scripts for it.

You can use the update option from the help menu when you run FF or TB with root privileges, not so smart but non the less possible...

At my day job, where I'm stuck working on a Win-World piece of junk, the Firefox update appeared a couple of hours ago, all by itself. So, I would say it's making its way out to the larger world ...

In the Firefox:
Edit > Preferences

In the Firefox Preferences > Advanced
Update tab ->

Automatically check for updates to:
Firefox
Installed Add-ons
Search Engines

Not for paranoids
