amarok wont play mp3's SOLVED!

so. ever since ive installed feisty i havnt been able to play mp3's in amarok.

it says i dont have mp3 support, and asks if i want to download it, but then freezes.

ive gotten everything in the package manager that comes up in a search for "amarok" to no avail. :\

Same here, although I have got my multiverse repos as well (which is often suggested to be the problem). With vlc-player, everything works fine, but still would like to know how come that Amarok is being nasty.

Try install libxine1 manually in Adept.

ok. so, im pretty much a n00b, and cant figure out how to do this ;\

i did...

fakeroot

apt-get install libxine1


...to no avail.

UPDATE

i searched "extracodecs" in adept, and installed that as well as "libxine1" and it works perfectly now.
