I have a problem with kubuntu hanging with a black screen & frozen pointer when I log out to get back to kdm login screen. As normal operation is runlevel 2 what happens when you log out? -does it drop to another run level?
This seems to happen if avahi-daemon and sshd are running when I log out-why they are running I can't tell as I have them turned off at boot-seems to be something to do with rc.local and rcS which I am tracing.
All I can do is restart the laptop, I can't even get another terminal up and cntrl-alt-backspace will not work.
