"Conversation with su failed" error

I read the posts for this error message, but I'm afraid that don't fix my own problem, and I don't want to loose my "perfectly" soon configurated Kubuntu. Please, Is anyone online that can help me?
The error is produced after 2 strange problems appeared today:
1- After I'm used QEMU to use Ubuntu 6.06 as virtual machine, the time of my system was changed to time of a city Cambridge in USA
2- I have installed 2 GNOME apps: sbackup and tomboy

Hi,

Could you explain what the 'problem' is exactly? What did you do for it to happen? What happened?

The time problem means when you load up kubuntu in the virtual machine-set the time in kubuntu to the correct one for you location-that might help.
