Video Player Crash

I have problem playing video with all players they just keep crashing without message it just exit, gxine and vlc used to play well on previous version, but now they all fail even on vcd, on the other hand I have no problem at all with Puppy Linux, which is a ulta light weight distro for low spec pc, the same video player works prefectly well out of the box on the same pc kubuntu keep crashing.

Try running the players from the terminal. That might get it to output an error message. Are your graphics drivers properly installed?

How do I tell the graphic driver is properly installed ? the system detected the right card and show me the window at set resolution so I guess it is working.
