Re: Why can't I update my virgin?
Apparently there's still a bug in the new version update utility. With a perfectly good broadband connection, after I fetch updates, and the "Version Upgrade" button turns blue, here is the error I get when I click it.
Besides, I'm on 2.6.20-14-generic -- I have not seen that there is another version already.
Probably a day or two of patience will fix this one ...

Re: Why can't I update my version?
that bug is also fixed in the next update to Adept, see my link above
* Fix kubuntu_07_show_changelog.diff to use correct URL (source
package, not binary package name; no epoch in URL)

Re: Why can't I update my version?
well only if it fixed it for you, I only see your error if I click on the "version upgrade' button, not when just doing a normal fetch. Still, it is a small bug on my end. If it is still there fo you, keep it open for the moment. but try the
''sudo apt-get update'
and
'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade'
to make sure you have all the updates just in case (I think you got them , even with the error, but it is good to verify)

Those bug reports relate to the next button not working, [grayed out]. My problem is different so I filed this bug report:

EDIT: Maybe it's my mistake since the button is grayed out, but not before it gets to the release announcement like that bug's screenshot.
