PDF printer not available in all apps

Hello... I'm not sure whether this is a general Kubuntu issue (existed in Edgy) or whether it is beta only bug with Feisty. I can't compare because I switched from Ubuntu Edgy to Kubuntu Feisty.

Anyway..the problem is that some applications, like Firefox for example, don't show Print to PDF as an option. They do show Print to PS which seems to me like it is the same mechanism which makes it all the more confusing to me that it shows one vs the other.

How do I make all apps show all printers?

Firefox and some other apps like openoffice print directly through cups, bypassing the KDE printer system.

They will not show the pdf printer, beacuse it's a KDE printer system thing, not a Cups one. There are workarounds, but they are different for each program. Usually you need to tell them to print using kprinter.

    Javier.

Ok.. with that in mind then is it possible... and can someone help me install cups-pdf in Kubuntu like I can in Ubuntu?

I tried and aptitude installed cups-pdf, but I can't figure out how to add the cups-pdf printer in Kubuntu.

I found instructions for how to get Firefox to show you the pdf printing option in Kunbuntu.

        The instructions are at:
