does not connect to router

Did a reinstall of 7.04 and still have the same problem, using wlassistant it sees the routers, but cannot connect to them. The gold stars are greyed out and I have an awll5025, I worked on Dapper but not on Feisty
do I have to use ndiswrapper? it should work since it is being seen by iwconfig and ifconfig. What am I doing wrong Thanks in advance, maybe a bug
