[SOLVED]Error restoring Grub

Hi. I always used dual boot (kubuntu & wxp) and today I had to reinstall Windows. But when I tried to restore Grub, I had an error that Ive never seen before:

"The file /boot/grub/stage1 not read correctly."

This message comes after running grub-install /dev/hdc (in my case is hdc)
and I cant get grub working again, Im just booting windows.
