Stops at boot trying to start cupsd..

    Hi,

Is there anybody experiencing the same problems as me?
I can boot the latest Kubuntu Live-cd fine but after installation the system tries to load the cups daemon and nothing happens. At the end of the line the prompt just sits there, I left it alone for at least 10 minutes but nothing happened. I can CTRL-ALT-DEL out of it, ok. I am using the AMD64 flavour.

Where can I prevent this cupsd from being loading? I have looked around in /etc/local/init.d/ but I can't seem to find it. Also the cups logs are empty, 0 bytes.

    Any help is highly appreciated.

By the way: Ubuntu installs fine.

    Code:
    sudo mv /etc/init.d/cupsys /etc/init.d/cupsys.exitus
If this "worked", I'd consider completely reinstalling the printing subsystem (CUPS et al.).

      Hi UnicornRider,

Yippie! That did it. Thanks for the support.

      I'm going to re-install cups.

Hmmm, seems like I was a bit too quick, I get to the KDE login screen and after entering my details I'm stuck at the desktop screen and just the mousepointer. all I can do is move the mousepointer around.

I'm going to do a complete fresh install, long shot, once more, guided entire disk mode instead of manual.
