Hi to all, after searching the forum no answer solved the problem, so i'm asking again about it.
HOW TO: GRUB Methods - Toolkit
doesn't work
other topics with same subject: no solution worked for me.
when i need to use windows xp i simply change hdd ide 1 master
mobo: asrock 775dual-vsta
2GB ddrII 2
ide 1 master 40GB (used all for kubuntu, guided partitioning during install all disk)
ide 2 slave 200GB (NTFS, no windows installation here, only data files)
(other drives are a dvd and a dvd-rw)
/boot/grub/menu.lst:
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz.......
initrd /boot/......
quiet
savedefault
kernel /boot/vmlinuz....... doesn't work, cant mount partition but if i move root (hd0,0) after kernel is loaded (but the system hangs up)
setup (hd0) worked but doesn't solved the problem.
Thanks.
Edit:
Forgot something.
The cd i've used is the desktop-amd64 (cpu intel core2 duo e6600)
Edit, again:
After the change of hd0 with the windows one, why i see grub (obviously not working)?
