    trouble editing grub boot info

I am starting to get quite a list of Kernal Versions on by boot spash, I want to edit and want to remove some.
'sudo kwrite /boot/grub/menu.lst' gets me into the text editor Kate ,I then highlight the kernals I want to delete, click the mouse and choose 'delete' and then save the new script. the past that's how I edited it.

After installing Feisty, I get to the text editor Kate and highlight the entries I want to remove but there is no 'delete' function. how do I remove them please.+

You should be able to use the "Cut" function to do the same job. Give it a try.

Truthfully I never noticed that they didn't have the actual DELETE function listed just naturally used CUT. I guess they figured that CUT did basically the same. Glad that worked! Happy Kubuntu-ing

Hmm - If you just remove entries from the menu.lst they will be back when you update kernel next time.

True enough, but if you remove those "extra" kernels through ADEPT, the next kernel or Grub update will not do that.

Ever tried to apt-get autoremove (a.o.) dated kernels?
