    Keyboard input delay

This is fairly urgent (I can't use Linux till it's fixed), so a fast response will be much appreciated!

While playing a game, I pressed a particular key combo (which I don't recall), and got a beep from the speaker in my PC case. A dialog then popped up in front of the game. I clicked "continue" without reading anything, just to get back to the game quickly. (The other option was "cancel" -- should have clicked that, doh!)

My keyboard (seemingly) stopped responding, so I reset the machine. The KB worked normally at the login screen, but was FUBAR once I logged in. I found that if I hold a key for about one second, the letter will print, but this is clearly unusable.

Basically I need to know what that popup was, and how I can open it again to undo whatever I did. I've tried mashing several keys but it just makes the speaker beep like crazy.

Although this was similar to the annoying Windows "sticky keys" popup that many gamers will be familiar with, I don't believe that is the problem here, because I fiddled with the sticky keys option and got nowhere.

    Help!

Don't know exactly what it could be, just pointing in a direction, so I hope you haven't already looked here.

System Settings --> Keyboard & Mouse.

Just look around and see if anything looks obvious.

Also look under Accessibiltiy for "Sticky Keys" and such. Actually look here first.

Yeah I've been all through the keyboard settings with no luck.

If I'd only stopped to read that damned box! Normally I would have, but I was in the middle of a battle. :P

Been there. Sorry, though, I really wouldn't know where to begin.

          Success!

I did a file search with an empty query on my home directory, then sorted by modified date and started poking around. In /home/myname/.kde/share/config/kaccessrc I saw SlowKeys=true, so on a hunch I set it to false and restarted X.

I have no idea where to set that in the GUI, but it did the trick!

Edit: Gah! It's right next to the stick keys settings, in Accessibility. The answer is always staring me in the face. >

I know. Happen to me on some sound settings.

              Go to "System Settings"
              to "Regional & Accessability"
              to "Accessability"
              to "Keyboard Filters"
              then uncheck "Use Slow Keys"
