Ok, I just got one (sweet player). It's working here. As it happens to you, it is detected as a a camera this is a bug). When the pop-up window asks what to do, I choose "do nothing". From Amarok, I had to manually add an mtp device (without giving any particular info, just give it a name). When I connect the zen, all I need is to push "Connect" from Amarok, and it works like a charm. Gnomad2 is working too, to copy generic files (like contacts).

This is Amarok 1.4.6 on Kubuntu Feisty.

      Cheers !

Yeah its not really a big issue just something i happened to notice. Also do you have the problem of the options in the menus being missing? like the menus drop down but they are blank?

No, no problems at all ... what menus do you mean, specifically ? Everything is working smoothly. Only caveat, the device can freeze if you un-plug it during a transfer. They even say it in the manual. This is poor design. But other than that, it's all good. Amarok's interface is very intuitive to transfer stuff over and manage it on the zen.

Many thanks to everyone involved in Amarok, the libmtp team, and related friends :-)
