    LaCie external hard drive unsupported

    Hi everyone,

My LaCie external hard drive (designed by F.A. Porsche) is recognized by my Kubuntu OS installation on an Intel iMac, but I cannot access the drive (it isn't shown in My Computer and on the desktop either).

    More detailed specs.
    Code:
LaCie Mobile Hard Drive, Design by F.A. Porsche
    Hi-Speed USB 2.0 y FireWire
    80GB

    Conectividad USB y FireWire universal
    Diseño ligero y portátil
Alimentación desde el bus* independencia del adaptador de CA
This is the product page for my external (mobile) hard drive:

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

O.k., first things first: What do fdisk as well as GParted think about it?

I don't know and I don't have the time (at the moment) to install these applications and try 'em out. Furthermore, can I download these applications from the Adept Manager as well?

      Thank you very much, anyway!

Fdisk is already installed by default; GParted comes as a bootable live system (- follow the posted links for details).

Ok, thank you very much for your answers. I didn't and don't have the time to visit those websites, but your help is very much appreciated.

FWIW, I have the same drive and it works fine with Feisty. Mine's formatted as one large FAT32 partition, to simplify connecting it to several different OSes.

My drive is formatted NTFS+, so that is probably where the problem lies...

Yeah, only recently was full NTFS support made available. Now we've got a new one, NTFS+, which, I'm assuming, Vista uses?
                For external use only.
