DHCP proxy server, any idea why i cant use adept?

Hey every1

Im using the internet server provided by my university.

Its a proxy server, with DHCP connection, i can connect to the internet but for somereason i cant seem to download anything through adept

Does any1 hav any ideas? i most admit i didnt set up my network during the installation could that hav anything to do with it??

Any help or tests i can do would be great

Lil bit more info i tried typing in sudo apt-get update, and it failed to connect to all of the repo's, so anyone have any idea what im doin wrong??

Does adept need to be configured to use proxy like synaptic package manager in ubuntu??

Hi,

I don't really know about adept, but for command line (apt-get) you should set the proxy :
export http_proxy=http://proxyort/
