    Surecom WLAN PCMCIA

    Hy.
I'm a ubuntu newbie, but ive many experience in other unix oss.
so ive a problem with my new wlan nic.

    it's a surecom EP-9428-g\2A pcmcia card with a realtek rlt8185L chip.
after the kubuntu installation it looks like the card is working, but i cant conect to a wlan.
so ive tried to compile the realtek linux drivers which you can download here.
after set the permissions of this scripts ive tried to run the ./makedrv script, but this will give me an error message at the compilation of the .ko module (ERROR: -1 unknown in module, or something else)
ive successfully compiled this drivers under gentoo, so what can i do??
    pls help. thx

PS: it should work without ndiswrapper, so pls do not help me with "use ndiswrapper" posts. thx

(0)Don't Panic! Help is at hand.
    (1) Are you sure that you have to install a new driver? Most wifi problems are attributable to setup problems.
    (2) If you want to compile things, you must install the build-essential package (with its depencies) and the "-dev" packages containing all the #include files for the thing you're compiling.
    (3) It will be MUCH easier to advise you if you can quote the EXACT wording of the error message:
    (4) (This should really be higher up.) Check for your wireless card at the Ubuntu Wiki
