    GUI wifi connection

This newest Kubuntu version (Dapper Drake) still hasn't fixed the defective  Gui Wifi interface setup. It still does not work. Can't it be fixed by the next release? Every Kubuntu release I've downloaded has had the same problem. Without wifi connection it's a no go for me. I'll continue to use Mepis. (B.T.W. Mepis has never had this problem setting up Wifi. . . ) . I'm now using Mepis 'Experimental' with Ubuntu repositories.
It runs well. . .. . . . . I'd like to have the option to try and use Kubuntu at some point in time. . . by what release can one expect it to get Wifi GUI interface working?.

Ubuntu has also worked flawlessly with my Wifi setup and is very simple to use and takes seconds to set up and run.Why can't Kubuntu somehow follow Ubuntu's footsteps to get this to work?

I found it helps if you install "wifi-radar"

It has a gui interface that helps you set up your wifi connections and supports multiple profiles. Best of all, it actually works.

You may have to enable the Universe repositories to install wifi-radar, I'm not really sure...

The network manager is supposed to be the panacea for all networking problems, but being a gnome-oriented app, I have my doubts. Lets see if KDE goes the way.

You can modify / save your config in the network boot script, this should avoid the "defective GUI" for net configuration..........
