    Printer

    I have tried Kubuntu 6.06 from a "live" cd which seems to run ok except it will not recognise my printer, a Canon Pixma MP 170. This is a serious problem and I would welcome any advice as to how I can overcome this before I go ahead and install.

    i would love to help but it seems the printer settings in the kontrol centre are busted on kubuntu 6.06 at this time ...

      Since last posting I have tried many forums plus canon all to no avail. I guess that I will either have to postpone my foray into kubuntu or look for another printer which is linux friendly.
      Any help or suggestions gratefully received

        I would suggest trying a later version of kubuntu - 6.10 or even feisty herd 3 if you're feeling a little adventurous.
