No X after install

Hello all-

Newbie to Kubuntu, but very proficient with Linux.

I ran the install for 6.01.1 Alternate Install (to use LVM). After reboot, I freeze on the splash screen. X won't start. When I change over to another VC and run 'startx', I get:

X: cannot stat /etc/X11/X (No such file or directory), aborting.

I ran apt-get update/upgrade. Still nothing. Can anyone help?

Hi,

Usually it means you made a server install so the x is not needful. You should be able to correct this, by installing kubuntu-desktop

Same problem here. Seems like the X-stuff in 6.10 is utterly broken (at least for me :-(

Hope the next version will be better :-(
