    Kubuntu live hangs..

I tried the new flight on my laptop, a CF73 panasonic, centrino 1.4 with 512meg ram.
I tried first ubuntu, which worked PERFECTLY, no problems at all, even the sound just come out at startup..
and then kubuntu..which hang just after seeing the desktop..i can move the cursor around, but i can't click anything..
the second time i tried, i got an error message regarding sounds, in fact there was no sound at all, however i can't still click anything..there is only a iconified window in the kde taskbar: Examining file progress...
and i can't do anything, neither is reading the cd, nor i can reboot with ctrl-alt-canc
    any idea?
    Thanks

    Re: Kubuntu live hangs..

    There are several possibile problems.
    (1) Since the Ubuntu CD worked and the Kubuntu one didn't, the first thing to suspect is a bad burn. But, you didn't need to burn anything, all you needed to do was to start synaptic (in Gnome) and download the package "kubuntu-desktop".
(2)It may be that, today, Kubuntu Dapper has a bug that will disappear tomorrow. That's why it hasn't been released yet.
    (3) You've got a damaged /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. However, if that were the case, you probably wouldn't even be able to login, let alone see the desktop.

Not to mention all the problems that I can't think of.

      i did something more...
i downloaded flight 6 and used it..
well it works, i see the desktol and everything works BUT wireless..
when i try to edit the config of the wireless card i get a crash on kde..
so seems that the problem for now is the wireless card with kde..otherwise i would be able to use flight 6 happily..

        Re: Kubuntu live hangs..

Someone else (Jucato) reported the same problem with wireless settings within the last day or so. I seem to recall that the suggested solution was to edit the /etc/network/interfaces file by hand.
