Kubuntu won't shut down my computer..

I have Dapper Drake 6.06. I recently updated my Nvidia drivers and Open GL and everything works fine. Later today I noticed when I tried to turn off my computer it won't turn off. I go to K then Log Out and press Turn off computer. When I do that it won't turn off. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

try this one open konsole login as super user if you can if not follow this guide http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_E..._user_password
then type poweroff

To shutdown and reboot, from the console (Ctrl-Alt F1 or Konsole) give it the following command:

sudo shutdown -r now
