about RAID and LVM - and my ignorance

    err, hi again,
this probably would be in the stupid questions list, -sigh-
how i know if i have RAID or LVM active? i know that while booting the system load LVM and RAID suport, but how i actually know if i did configured raid or lvm while partitioning?
i mean, is not something that happens half alone, in the middle of partitioning rigth?
i know, this sound more and more dumb,
just don't laugh or shout, a simple answer would be much appreciated. (i did look on answers.com and google, i just have a slow week i think)
    ty anyway.

    Hi,

If you have lvm installed on your machine, you should see things like lv in the answer of mount command
For raid, if you didn't set it manually before to install, it shouldn't be used... Do you have at least 2 disks ?
If you don't find for lvm post the output of mount and I will tell you...

    Cheers

      2 discs,
      the output of "mount":

      /dev/hdb1 on / type ext3 (rw,errors=remount-ro)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
tmpfs on /lib/modules/2.6.12-9-386/volatile type tmpfs (rw,mode=0755)
      /dev/hdb4 on /boot type ext3 (rw)
      /dev/hdb8 on /home type ext3 (rw)
      /dev/hda5 on /media/docs_casa type vfat (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,iocharset=utf8,fmask=0111, dmask=0000)
      /dev/hda6 on /media/down type ext3 (rw)
      /dev/hda1 on /media/win type vfat (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,iocharset=utf8,fmask=0111, dmask=0000)
      /dev/hdb3 on /media/wind2 type vfat (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,iocharset=utf8,fmask=0111, dmask=0000)
      /dev/hdb9 on /opt type ext3 (rw)
      /dev/hdb5 on /tmp type ext3 (rw)
      /dev/hdb7 on /var type ext3 (rw)
      /dev/hda7 on /media/musica type ext3 (rw)
tmpfs on /dev type tmpfs (rw,size=10M,mode=0755)

        not really ugly
So you're not using lvm or raid, you have two disks, one is hda and the main for linux is hdb...
