sound and hibernation on HP pavilion

Hi there.

I've got an HP ze2000 with ubuntu 6.06 with KDE installed alongside of gnome.

My hibernation locks up in both kde and gnome.
My sound works in kde and gnome but the hardware buttons dont work in kde.

I'm a lil bit nubish still.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
